Responsibilities of the Director and the Editor 

The Director and the Editor of the Revista de Estudios y Experiencias en Educación (REXE) are responsible for the overall conduct of the editorial process and for safeguarding the quality, integrity and academic relevance of the journal. 

Within this framework, it falls to them to ensure compliance with the editorial and publication ethics policies, making certain that all manuscripts are assessed against academic, scientific and ethical criteria. They are also responsible for taking final decisions on the acceptance or rejection of articles, or on requests for revisions, on the basis of the peer review reports and the academic merit of the work. 

They must likewise guarantee the transparency, impartiality and confidentiality of the editorial process, as well as the proper handling of conflicts of interest, complaints or possible malpractice, acting in accordance with international standards. It also falls to them to promote the continuous improvement of the journal, its visibility and internationalisation, and compliance with the criteria required by indexing systems. 

Responsibilities of the editorial team 

Peer review and assessment: The editorial team of the Revista de Estudios y Experiencias en Educación (REXE) will ensure the selection of expert reviewers appropriate to the subject area of the manuscript, promoting a rigorous, objective and timely assessment process. 

Impartiality and fairness: Editorial decisions will be based solely on the academic and scientific merit of manuscripts, without discrimination on grounds of gender, sexual orientation, beliefs, ethnic origin, institutional affiliation or nationality of the authors. 

Handling of ethical conflicts. The editorial team will adopt clear and transparent procedures for addressing possible ethical conflicts, complaints or claims, guaranteeing authors' right of reply and ensuring that each case is duly investigated. 

Confidentiality. The editorial team undertakes to safeguard the confidentiality of manuscripts at every stage of the editorial process, as well as the identity of authors and reviewers, in keeping with the review system adopted by the Revista de Estudios y Experiencias en Educación (REXE). 

Responsibilities of reviewers 

Contribution to editorial quality. Reviewers support editorial decision-making through critical, objective and well-founded assessments, helping to improve the scientific quality of manuscripts. 

Confidentiality: All information contained in manuscripts must be treated as confidential and may not be used for personal or professional purposes. 

Detection of irregularities. Reviewers must inform the editorial team of possible cases of plagiarism, duplication or substantial similarity with other work. 

Conflicts of interest: Should there be any conflict of interest capable of compromising the objectivity of the review, reviewers must decline to take part and inform the editorial team promptly. 

Responsibilities of authors 

Originality and plagiarism: Authors submitting manuscripts to the Revista de Estudios y Experiencias en Educación (REXE) must guarantee that the work is original, has not been previously published and is not under assessment by another journal or dissemination channel. They must also acknowledge and properly cite all sources used. Should there be any overlap with earlier publications, authors must expressly inform the editorial team and provide a copy of that work for assessment. 

References and sources: Authors must ensure the correct citation of all bibliographic and documentary sources used, in accordance with the editorial rules of the Revista de Estudios y Experiencias en Educación (REXE), guaranteeing the traceability and accuracy of the information presented. 

Sources of funding: Any source of funding, whether public or private, must be expressly declared, stating the sponsoring institution and, where applicable, the associated project number. 

Authorship and responsibility: Authors accept responsibility for the content of the manuscript and guarantee that the data presented are truthful and authentic. They must also ensure that all signatories have contributed significantly to the research and approve the final version submitted. 

Availability of data: Authors must keep accurate records of the data used in the research and, where required, provide the editorial team with access to those data, always safeguarding ethical and confidentiality considerations. 

Ethical considerations in research: In studies involving the participation of individuals, authors must guarantee compliance with the ethical principles of research, including informed consent, the confidentiality of participants and, where applicable, approval by an institutional ethics committee. 

Conflicts of interest: Authors must declare any conflict of interest capable of influencing the results or the interpretation of the study. 

Corrections and retractions: Should significant errors be detected in the manuscript or in the published article, authors must inform the editorial team promptly and cooperate in the publication of corrections, clarifications or retractions where necessary.
