Self-archiving policy
The Revista de Estudios y Experiencias en Educación (REXE) recognises the importance of preprints as a legitimate practice of scientific communication that favours the early dissemination of knowledge and academic dialogue. Nevertheless, in keeping with its double-blind review policy and with the editorial tradition of the educational sciences —a field in which prior dissemination through preprints is still developing and is not yet widespread— the journal accepts only previously unpublished work that has not been circulated beforehand on preprint servers. The purpose of this decision is to safeguard the impartiality of the assessment process, to avoid possible interference with anonymous review and to ensure that the first formal academic publication of the manuscript takes place in the journal.
Once the editorial process has been completed, authors may deposit the accepted article or its final version (postprint) in institutional or subject repositories, provided that the full reference to the original publication in the Revista de Estudios y Experiencias en Educación (REXE) is clearly stated, in accordance with the licence under which the content is distributed. In this way, the journal seeks to balance the open dissemination of knowledge with strict compliance with the ethical standards of academic publishing.
