About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The Revista de Estudios y Experiencias en Educación (REXE) is a publication whose purpose is to serve as a direct channel for disseminating academic and scientific work. It provides a space for debate, reflection, study and effective contribution to the field of pedagogical knowledge, at a time when education is playing an increasingly important role in meeting the challenges our society faces in this age of knowledge and information.

Coverage

The Revista de Estudios y Experiencias en Educación (REXE) publishes original work such as studies, debates and experiences. Its sections are organised according to the articles accepted.

The Research section publishes original work resulting from research projects whose methodologies are appropriate to their research problems and which generate knowledge as a result. The Studies and Debates section publishes previously unpublished work presenting studies or debates on educational problems, theoretical positions, pedagogical approaches and the like, strongly argued so as to deepen reflection and critical discussion of possible explanations or proposals in response to such issues.

The Pedagogical Experiences section brings together articles that systematise pedagogical experiences demonstrating innovative practice, whether at a theoretical or a practical level.

Publication frequency: The Revista de Estudios y Experiencias en Educación (REXE) is published annually in a continuous publication format.

Target readership: The journal is aimed at researchers, academics, teachers and professionals in the field of education, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate students and public policy makers with an interest in the production and use of scientific knowledge in education.

Languages: English and Spanish.

Subject coverage: The Revista de Estudios y Experiencias en Educación (REXE) addresses topics related to the field of education and pedagogical practice, including empirical research, theoretical studies, academic debates and pedagogical experiences aimed at understanding and improving educational processes, promoting critical reflection and the analysis of the contemporary challenges of education in the knowledge society.

Associated charges: The journal makes no charge for submission, editorial processing or article publication. REXE is published under the diamond open access model, at no cost to authors or readers.

Submission period: from March to December.

Principles of editorial ethics and responsible assessment: The Revista de Estudios y Experiencias en Educación (REXE) adheres to the international principles of editorial integrity promoted by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and to the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA). Through this commitment, the journal undertakes to promote good practice in scientific publishing, to ensure ethical and transparent editorial processes, and to encourage responsible approaches to research assessment, giving priority to quality, methodological rigour and the academic and social impact of the work it publishes.

Consistent with its commitment to open science and to the responsible circulation of scientific knowledge, the Revista de Estudios y Experiencias en Educación (REXE) adheres to the principles of the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA). Within this framework, the journal promotes assessment approaches that give priority to the quality and contribution of scientific articles over characteristics of the authors, of the references or others that might bias the appraisal of the scientific merit of the work itself. It also recognises the value and impact of the various outputs of research and encourages a broad understanding of the scientific and social impact of research, such as its influence on educational practice, on public policy and on the development of knowledge in the educational sciences through the publication of pedagogical experiences.
