Similarity policy

The Revista de Estudios y Experiencias en Educación (REXE) declares that it considers any form of plagiarism unacceptable, which means that all manuscripts submitted to the review process must meet the following requirements before being accepted. Manuscripts submitted to the Revista de Estudios y Experiencias en Educación (REXE) must be original and previously unpublished, with the consent of all authors. The journal will not publish articles previously published in another language.

The Revista de Estudios y Experiencias en Educación (REXE) is committed to its community and will therefore implement any retractions and corrections needed to guarantee the transparency of the journal and due process should errors be detected or reported.

The Editorial Team will take all reasonable steps to identify and prevent the publication of manuscripts in which malpractice has occurred, such as plagiarism or undue similarity, incorrect citation or falsification of data. Should any malpractice be found, the manuscript will be rejected immediately. Should malpractice be discovered after publication, a corresponding retraction will be carried out as set out above.

The fragmentation of work without corresponding citation is regarded as plagiarism and therefore fails to meet the established criteria of originality. Authors are accordingly asked to include the relevant citations where their work refers to earlier publications. Authors must also be available to respond to requests from the Editorial Team and reviewers concerning work previously published on the subject.

All manuscripts received will undergo a strict peer review process and will first be analysed with the similarity detection software Turnitin. If the manuscript does not meet the specified criteria of originality, the submission will be rejected for publication.

Authors are responsible for the material included in their work, such as tables, graphs, photographs, figures and other content necessary for the publication, and declare that it does not infringe copyright.

A) Self-plagiarism

Self-plagiarism is the act of reproducing one's own work without significant changes. As such, self-plagiarism potentially constitutes dual publication or failure to cite an earlier publication.

The Revista de Estudios y Experiencias en Educación (REXE) takes the view that including identical sentences from earlier work by one of the authors is not considered plagiarism, provided it is correctly cited; likewise, an author's reuse of figures from previously published work is acceptable, with due acknowledgement.

B) Correction and Retraction

The Revista de Estudios y Experiencias en Educación (REXE) is a diamond open access publication, which means that anyone may view and verify the text without restriction and at no cost. Readers may raise general questions or send their concerns, comments and suggestions to the journal by e-mail at rexe@ucsc.cl.

If you find demonstrable errors or ethical problems, please contact us so that the corresponding investigation can be opened and immediate action taken. Should the error or ethical problem be confirmed, the corresponding correction or retraction process will begin.

Corrections of significant errors, or retractions, after the manuscript has been published online will be published separately by means of a correction notice.

C) Research Fraud

The Revista de Estudios y Experiencias en Educación (REXE) accepts only manuscripts resulting from research of a scientific nature or from noteworthy pedagogical experiences; to that end, authors must provide information, where required, on the origin of the research or experience whose findings they seek to publish. In addition, during the peer review process, experts consider such aspects as methodology, presentation of results, argumentation and the conclusions drawn, so as to ensure the coherence and accuracy of the information presented, as well as its relevance and contribution to the field of study.

Authors are asked to keep evidence available regarding the information used, since such information, data and other content sources may be requested by the editor and/or the reviewers. Any manipulation, falsification or fabrication of citations and data will be grounds for rejecting the manuscript.

D) Submission of a copy of the article

The Revista de Estudios y Experiencias en Educación (REXE) states in its instructions for authors that manuscripts submitted for publication must not have been, and must not currently be, under review by other publications. Articles must be original and previously unpublished, and must be submitted with the consent of all authors, who must undertake to the Revista de Estudios y Experiencias en Educación (REXE) to maintain these conditions until a verdict is reached on the submission.

This does not prohibit the submission to the Revista de Estudios y Experiencias en Educación (REXE) of a manuscript that has been rejected by another refereed journal, provided that the editorial process at the journal to which it was immediately previously submitted has been completed.
